What studs in clutch end of case?

I was going to start reassembly of my 2.2E engine today. First job of the day - getting it on the stand. But of course, the studs which would mount it were removed and time-serted.

I have the studs I removed but I have no clue which one goes where, also whether some take bolts rather than studs. :(

Does anybody have a loose engine case with gearbox not attached they could let me know which stud goes where please?

Actually, hark back to when I bought the engine - maybe the studs were already not present. If so, I think it bought some but I don't know which goes where.

If memory serves, starter mount is a 10mm allen bolt 102mm long. Later had a stud 10mm x 105mm'and special allen nut.
The lower studs studs are both 10x 69mm.
For the purpose of mounting the case on the stand, any 10x1.5mm bolt 20mm longer than your cradle should do.

Henry— just acquired this 901/16 motor (incomplete / in-parts) and see that the lower- left stud was sheered-off. The upper-right one has an insert (heli-coil type). How would you suggest I proceed with the repair so I can mount on engine stand and split the case (none of the through-bolts were included…)

For the broken stud, get a set of reverse drills and easy outs, center punch to give drill location.
I have complete sets of through bolts for early cases. PM if interested

I would slit the case on bench, strip all the part from inside and send the case out for EDM. You could try drilling out the stud but you might damage the threads in the process. Either way, inserting all four stud holes is a good idea. If you're not happy with the HeliCoil, simply pull it out and replace it with a Time-sert.
