Mezger O-Ring Materials

I'm replacing a lot of O-rings in my oil and coolant system on my Mezger 3.8L. The OE Porsche prices are pretty astronomical for simple o-rings. Does anyone know what materials the OEM O-rings are for each system? I'm wondering if I can replace all the o-rings with industrial Viton seals of the same size (the car won't ever see freezing temps).

Thanks

Hi
Is your engine Air Cooled ?

No, it's a 997 GT3 motor. So there is anitfreeze/water. All the water hoses are EPDM. I figure the o-rings are as well, but I'm not certain.

Viton o-rings are a high temperature o-rings recommended in a oil. gasoline and Ethylene Glycol environment. As far as I can tell, there no reason why Viton o-rings shouldn't be used in the GT3.

Look up the parts in PET. PET will give you the Oring dimensions. Then contact your local hydraulic supply company who will likely have the same sizes in a variety of materials (some better than OE) and purchase them for pennies on the dollar.

We purchase most Orings for these motors this way. We buy them in bulk, and have never had an a failure or issue.

Also, there are many durometer options in VITON materials to choose from.

Thanks.
The PET has most dimensions and have found industrial equivalents to almost all of the ones I need. I was going to order them online from an oring shop.
What grade of Viton do you typically use? I've read both Viton A and Viton F are used in the oil system, but Viton F is much harder to find in all the sizes, but has improved fuel compatilbity compared to Viton A.
