Oil Tank Level/sending unit

Need Help with a question please... Can anyone tell me if the updated (1981) version of the oil level/sending unit interfeers with the original oil dip stick?

Sorry, this Tech Bulliten board thing is new to me... I have a 1978 SC and I understand there may be a problem with the updated version of the oil tank sending unit? Any information will be appreciated.
