cam timing
hi folks
does anyone have the correct cam timing setting for a 2.2E also how can i tell if it has the original cam thanks in advance chris |
If you buy the Factory spec book, it will have all this info. They are cheap, and extremely handy. It will give you the lobe measurements, as well as the cam part numbers. Maybe someone on this board has the '70='71 book. I can get this info for you tomorrow when I'm at work if needed.
If they are re-grinds, then the cam grinder usually stamps the back end of the cam with their cam number and name. |
thanks for that
if you could get me the info i'd be very grateful i'll try and source the books but i'm not sure if they are easy to get hold of in the uk chris |
The Original Porsche Spec books that Tyson is referring to are no longer available. That is why I duplicated all of this info in my Engine Rebuild book: http://www.101projects.com . Shipping to the UK would probably run about $15 USD.

I have that porsche factory book in front of me and it says 3.0-3.3 mm intake valve lift at overlap TC with 0.1 mm valve clearance.
Hope that helps Ben 77 911 3.0 75 914-6 2.7 |
thanks ben
thats going to save me a load of time waiting for books cheers mate chris |
Buying it from Amazon doesn't support Pelican or this BBS. Why on earth would you buy from a crappy retailer that would take years to get the book to you, when I can mail it out to you today?

Just a question Wayne....How the heck does Amazon get the book anyhow? Place an order from you and then jack the price up???

That is just one stupid case out of many concerning application technology. If they are this bad about software imagine what the future will be like now that the government is also allowing biotech companies to patent gene sequences. |
