Engine Rebuild Book Question

Wanye,

you included the dimensions to make the rod and chain holders used in the case assembly. I just can find the width of the parts anywhere? What is this dimension?

Thanks,

Arnie

Width is not a critical dimension. Just measure the width of your rods and timing chains and approximate that with your holding tools...

I made mine with a piece of the tin c-clamp that holds the joints of heating duct together. It's about 1" wide. I couldn't bend it to exactly the shape of the pictures but it worked great. Once the case was together I took my tin snips and cut them up. In the can they went.

I used this because it was there. I'm sure you can get it at any home center for a few bucks. I think I used about 4-6 feet. (At the most.)

Hmm, cardboard would probably work pretty well...

Made mine out of some hardware store aluminum... like 3/4" width, bent by hand... Easy-peezy

String to the ceiling is one idea, but then you can't easily attach the other case half...
