Question how long (miles?) should a rebuilt engine continue to smoke on startup?

As many on the board know, I've finished my top end rebuild of my 2.0 engine. It's been six years since I did it last, and I can't remember how long it took for the engine to not smoke at first startup. It's fine when running, or starting up after it's been driven, but when it sits in the garage overnight, the next morning I get a nice blue plume of smoke when it fires up. I've put about 30 miles on it so far and it's still about the same.

My question - how long does this usually take to resolve? I would assume it's a piston ring seating issue with my reconditioned P/C's and new rings. How many miles is the usual time to get things to stick and seal?? Just curious about other's experiences.

Thanks, and happy long weekend!!
