1977 911s, 2.7L rebuild vs swap

Hi,

I would like to get more HP out of my 2.7L. What kind of HP can I hope for from a 2.7L and how much would it cost? Am I just better off swapping in a bigger/turbo engine?

Please share your experience, any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks

Hefty question. You can probably get about 210-220 HP out of a 2.7 with the right setup, and with the case updated properly. Swapping an engine can also be a good idea, but you are swapping in a used engine that will have problems in the future (unless it's recently been rebuilt, which is rare to find).

That's my short comment...

Thanks Wayne.
I forgot to mention a key detail. The 2.7 has been recently rebuilt, but it's stock.
How much would it cost to buy an 3.2 turbo engine and do a self rebuild?

I just got your engine rebuilding book, great stuff. I did not think it was possible to top the 101 projects book, but you might have pulled it off.
Thanks
