Case Sealing With Silk / O-ring
Anyone ever heard of using #00 silk thread as an 'o-ring' on the case seal? It's laid into the sealant in a single thread all the way around the perimeter of the case. Apparently this is done in aircraft (Lycoming?) applications.
Alternatively I was considering milling a CNC slot and using a real strip of O-ring. I really hate a dripping case on a nice car. I think I need more sleep. ![]() |

An old trick.
I've done it on a couple of habitually leaking (Brit) m/c engines. Worked ok, but the sealants are so good these days, I think you can trust them.
