Carrera RS oil hose

Does anyone have the parts book that covers the '73 911? I need the part number for the pipe/hose that goes from the engine to the thermostat on a '73 S or RS. I think it is one year only part. I'm having a tough time finding a replacement, and mine is starting to leak. Sorry if this is a little OT. Here is a picture. Wish I had the rest of the part book. Has Porshce discontinued these parts books? I can't find them for sale anywhere anymore.

Does that line stops next to the oil cooler or go all the way to the thermosat. If it stops next to the cooler, I need the second line that goes from the hard line to the thermostat. It would have 2 90 degree bends, not one like the C-107-728-00 which only has the one bend.

I got my answer. The oil hose part number is 911.107.724.10, and its $512. I guess the guys with real 911RSs can afford that. At that price, I'm going to see if a hydraulic shop rebuild mine.

The older illustrated factory parts catalogs are NLA but one can sometimes find them for sale on E-bay. I have the catalogs for the years 1972-73 and 1974-1977. I think I paid around $250 total. They were worth the money though in terms of locating the right parts and minimizing ordering the wrong parts which are typically not returnable. When we bought a salvaged external oil cooler system for my son's '73, the line you are trying to replace had a AN bung welded on where the hose section begins and a similar AN bung welded on the other end where the hose section ends. We however did not get the required AN jumper hose but I was able to find the AN hose barb fittings and high temperature rated oil hose at BAT, Inc. http://www.batinc.net/mocal.htm If you find a hydraulic shop to crimp on a new hose section they may run into the difficulty of finding the right size metric hot oil hose. One possibility is to buy a "cheaper" Porsche OEM oil line (see Pelican C-107-742-10 for $41.25) that has enough of the correct diameter hose and cut the hose from the new line to provide the hydraulic hose shop with the proper hose to repair your $512 vintage oil line. Cheers, Jim
