Rough idle and lost power

I just got done rebuilding. Running 82 targa 3.0 with new 20/21 cams from webcams, dansk headers and dual in dual out muffler. Dual out muffler has no place for the O2 sensor so we left it out. Now the car is running jerky and temperature is running 2/3 on the meter. Could this be because of the O2 sensor not being there?

Webcams did not send any timing specs for the 20/21, so we used the ones in Wayne's book. Engine has been broken in as directed in Wayne's book, but still the car seems a lot weaker now than before the rebuild. Any ideas on the increased temperature and lost power?

Yes, it's the 02 sensor - the car needs this to regulate the mixture. If it doesn't read a signal, it goes into a type of 'limp' mode. Unplugging the 02 sensor is similar to walking around your house blindfolded.

If you don't believe me, then get the car to a scope and check the exhaust gases. Guaranteed, they will be all off.

You need to drill and weld an O2 sensor bong onto your headers...

Thanks Wayne. I will get it installed and let you know how it works.
