Removing Carrera chain Tentioners

I WAS under the Impression that the chain tentioners are oil pressure fed,..Now that I am ready to remove them...they don't BUDGE it seems they are still pressurized with out the oil,.are they also spring loaded ???How do you get them Loose,..I thought it would be easier to work the cam nut with them removed...I did'nt see in Waynes book how to remove the tentioners ??? Thanks Frank

Hi there. They are spring loaded and oil dampened. Simply pull on them, or use a tiny claw hammer or small prybar, and they should come right out...

They are oil fed so you won't run out of oil. That was the main problem on the old ones. They had oil in them but at some point they leaked.

Squeeze them in a bench vise and lock them with a nail.
