Is this the right case number?

If so, I guess some lowly 911/51s did come with the good case. If not, where do I find the real case number?

Thanks, - Jon

that's the casting number and is a good indicator of how strong the case is. To find the engine type # or the serial # you need to look by the oil temperature sender. The serial # is on the fan support facing to the passenger side of the engine. The engine type # is facing up just below the serial #.

Just wanted to confirm that that number in that spot was indeed the case number that makes this the desirable "7R" case.

After my scintillating dyno run last week, I've just been running through my upgrade options. Since I appear to have the good case, it makes rebuild + upgrade an option instead of replace + upgrade.

AHH yes that is the desirable 7R case
