Wow, very interesting thread. I almost sent my motor to MM but I changed my mind and bought Wayne's book. I asked around and a no one could figure out how they could offer the rebuild so cheaply. I am going to have my head work done by Steve Wiener at Rennsport...

Steve's shop is one of the best. I originally thought that they were a performance shop that assembled motors and cars, but Steve recently told me that they do all of their own machine work there as well.
Two other great shops are Competition Engineering and Engine Machine Service (here in LA). I have also heard very good things about Ollies, but I have not used them personally. -Wayne
