The funny thing is that this started out as a budget top-end only rebuild, and sort of snowballed out of control

Yeah real funny, laughing all the way to the bank I imagine :-)

This sounds alot like me... went from a stock 2.4T rebuild to adding 2.4E cams to adding 2.2E cams with 2.2E pistons to 2.2E cams and JE pistons. It really does snowball before you know it.

Snowball? SNOWBALL? Want to hear an AVALANCHE story? No? Well too bad! I inherited a 73 T from my dad, the original owner. never wrecked, repainted, rebuilt (except for top end, but that's another story) or re-anythinged. Garage stored all these years. Pampered. Babied. But not too fast. So I decided I'd Like a little more HP. Simple engine mods on original engine became a hot rod 3.2. (Plans are: twin plugged, PMO's, 10.3:1 JE pistons, boattailing, Raceware hdwr., etc. etc.) Of course, this means bigger brakes, (930 Brembos) which means bigger wheels (9 & 7 X 16 Fuchs) which means more suspension (bilsteins, Thru body sway bar, etc.) which means fender flares in rear, which means welding and paint... which I just couldn't do to my dad's all original, one owner pride and joy. Solution? Buy a roller and screw that one up. So now I own two 73 911t's. Or. more precisely, one 911t and LOTS of spare parts. And a dream. Or a curse! AAARRRGH!

I'm your doppelganger, but with two 72Ts. Good stuff!

Gee, maybe we should start a therapy group or something...
