Question for anyone who bought '84-'89 Mahle P&C set and kept the box

If you recently received your Mahle '84-'89 pistons and cylinders for the 3.2L, can you please take a second and let me know what the Mahle Stock number is on your box (little white label on the top flap). Also, if you could mention how long ago you made the purchase.

Perhaps someone in PP warehouse could help me out?

I'm being somewhat victimized by id numbers here and I'm trying to double-check everything for this newbie rebuild.

Sorry, I don't have any of these on the shelf right now...

Post a pic of what you have...

Thanks for responding, Wayne.

Actually, I was going to avoid the pic so as not to influence the response...sorta like when 'asking the audience' on Millionaire. Kinda surprised no one has the box.

Do you have a set of calipers? Measure the piston diameter and the size of the wrist pin.

Thanks, Tom. It's 95mm, but it is the (current) Mahle stock number itself that I'm curious about.

Ted,
I have several of these Red Mahle boxes at the shop (from a 95 MM 3.2L). are you trying to figure out if a set you were sold is USA or a Euro spec set? if so I know I can help and suspect I know the culprit as the same deal was attempted on me.

What info do you want exactly?

Turns out...

it wasn't the U.S. vs Euro spec situation MoreGAS suggested.

it was the original OEM part number has been superceded by the factory.

PN for '84-'89 911s pistons and cylinders:
930.103.981.03 (orig.)
930.103.990.02 (updated part number on the red box)

The updated number apparently previously applied to '86-'89 engines. Now includes '84 and '85.

Still, would be interesting to hear someone else's part number on the box, for confirmation.
