Head Studs Q...

I'm currently rebuilding my engine and was suggested to use Carillo head studs. I never heard of Carillo head studs before but I've heard Carillo forged connecting rods. None of the current stock studs are damaged and I was going to replace them with ARP. Any info if the Carillo's exists and if they did, how would they compare to ARP or Raceware? Or should I approach the "If it ain't broke, why fix it"?

I've never heard of Carillo head studs either. Maybe whomever suggested them was thinking of ARP or Raceware?

They probably got confused...

Raceware or ARP are nice, but I believe them to be overkill for street engines... Why not just use the steel 993 studs? (Or are you building a monstor motor or something?)

Chris,

I'm not building a monster motor but I will be using this as a street / track car.

Use factory steel studs. They're the cheapest and perfectly reliable.
