CIS fuel lines question
I have just finished my '82 3.0 motor build and am wrapping up refreshing and re-installing my CIS components. What is the general guidance on replacing the CIS fuel lines on the motor? My car has metal fuel lines, but there are two sections where a rubber line is crimped on to the metal lines (see picture for reference). Should I replace them as a matter of course and for peace of mind, or do they seem to last and don't normally need replacement. I don't see any cracking in any of the rubber sections, but they are now 43 years old. Based on my past experiences with VW's, I always erred on the side of caution and replaced any fuel lines that are so close to heat in the engine compartment. Same question on the line that goes to the WUR - it's a hard line with a section of rubber that connects to the WUR.

Flexing those old lines can cause them to leak. Ask how I know. Its much easier to replace them now than once everything is back together and you notice a huge leak.

Thanks rudedude. That's what I was thinking, but wanted to make sure I wasn't off base in my concern as all these parts add up the $$ fast. The last thing I want is an engine fire on a newly rebuilt motor!
