Quick info out of rebuild book
I don't have it in front of me but i'm in the process of buying a machinist ruler. Does anyone have the value that must be measured when aligning the cam gears for proper shimming?

There is really no exact 'value' to be measured, but rather a comparison. You need to take your initial measurement from the end of the intermediate shaft flange to its timing gear, then compare that measurement to the right side cam sprocket measurement.....this is where you'll need a good straight edge. For the left side measurement, you subtract 54.80mm.

That's all i needed to know, i was purchasing a machinist ruler since they aren't expensive. My dad picked up a snap on straight edge off of ebay. I ended up buying two, one in 150mm semi flexible, and the other in 300mm non flex. Not bad for 20$.
