New Member/ introduction and question

Rick M. has been telling me about this sight for awhile, so I finally decide to take a look. Well, currently I have a stock 2001 996 cab
that I have mixed emotions over. More importantly, I have a 1997
993 that was noramally aspirated. About 2 years ago I took my 993 to Protomotive in Pomton lakes Nj. Protomotive explained to me that they provide 3 Stages of up performance upgrades.
Stage 1- simply was to strap on a pair of turbo's and a custom built intercooler and twink with the computer and keep my Turbo's at .04 bar. This would bring me approx. 415 hp. Stage 2 was to drop the compression, bigger fuel injectors and go to 1.4 bar, this would bring me approx. 550 hp. Stage 3 was a complete rebuld, which by the sounds of it was more engine they I needed. Currently, I am at stage 1 and for a number of reason, looking for another performance shop that can upgrade my car to a Stage 2. Specifically, a shop that has had experience with this type of upgrade and located in the North East . (CT to Philly.)
Please Advise

I look forward to getting to know you guy's. It sound like a great group.

Thanks for your support. Do you by chance have Rick's number or contact info.

Were you unhappy with Protomotive? I've been to their shop, very clean and professional, and know quite a few NNJR members using them without complaints.

At first they seem to echo your statement. But after awhile I found myself having to fix things that they recommended I change. Also their
price on the stage 2 upgrade was more volitale than the stock market.
Finally, I expressed that I might be interested in upgrading to stage 2 but would get back to them after April 15 (Taxes). Approx. April 25 Paul called me to tell me that my parts were in and I would have to pay for them. Sales guys don't like to be hard sold. Also, I have heard that they have had some financial problems. I firmly believe that when you custom build anything it is a good idea to have more than one option, or exit stategy. Outside of the last corespondence with Paul the rest of the group was extremely professional and a pleasure to deal with. I will probably do buiness with them again but as I get further into the customixation of my 911 I want more options
