Main Bearing ID
Have finished disassembly of my '65 2 liter engine. Everything looks good (no unusual bearing wear visible, havent mic'd yet) What I'm curious about is whether one can tell if bearings are original (am the third owner, car has 52K miles and ,to my knowledge, has never had the case opened) Have attached a photo of a main bearing w/ stampings. Thanks, and Happy Holidays. Steve L

Replacement ones don't have part number stampings like that one, I don't think...

901.101.132.00 I just got a set of main bearings from Pelican for my SC and they do have a few non PORSCHE numbers and a GLYCO logo on them but thats about it. Last edited by smestas; 12-19-2003 at 10:09 PM.. |

Wayne & Simon--Thanks for the replys--I think observations would support "original parts" contention. Was considering not spitting case, & though I've not found any problems, am confident it was the right way to go. Steve
