Intermediate shaft endcap
Mine doesn't have a circlip retainer holding removable cap (looking to remove & clean passages). My old Haynes manual calls for drilling/ tapping and removal--my question is, are the replacement plugs available? A second question-- both engine ser # and chassis # both show early '65 build date (data courtesy of Stoddard catalog), yet the vehicle ID plate (passenger side trunk) indicates model year 1966. I am ordering parts, can I correctly assume no changes were made between years, and that ordering '66 parts is appropriate? (searched archives for relevant data to no avail) Thanks Steve

1965-68 are almost all completely identical, off the top of my head, with the exception of the early, early center-lubed camshafts...
I wouldn't sweat the inside of the intermediate shaft - leave it as is... -Wayne |
