is it too cold in my garage for Loctite 574?

Hi guys,
I'm about to perform step 2 on the rebuild; i.e: mate the case halves. The problem is, we are having a heck of a cold spell here in NoCal and it's probably about 45-50deg in my garage right now. Will this affect the way the Loctite 574 seals? I know that with some adhesives, paints, etc, it is recommended that they be used within certain temperature ranges. The writing on the side of the bottle is in German, so no help there.

I've got a couple of space heaters in my "clean room" going right now, but they have a hard time keeping up. I'd like to get the case halves done today while I have a full day to get the job done, but not at the expense of future oil leaks. Please don't me wait until spring!

Thanks,
Jim

Damn the temp...seal away!!

Jim,
Good luck and here is a link to the info requested...looks like 5 degrees cel will reach 100% bonding strength in 24 hours, so I'd seal i and just keep working. Of course, the warmer the weather the faster the stuff sets up.

Thanks Dustin,

That's exactly the info I was looking for. A longer cure time might well work in my favor, since one of my concerns was that I would somehow muss things up and not get everything buttoned up before the Loctite cured.

Back to the garage!

Jim
