need help identifying cylinders
I took the shroud and the webers off my engine today and got a pic of my cylinders to see if you guys can help me figure out what my engine is made of. Heres the pic:
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...0/fa28f5ab.jpg Im trying to decide on whether or not to keep or sell this thing. Tough decision when you dont know what you are keeping or trying to sell. Is there anyway to tell from the pic above what P&Cs my engine has? Heres what I know about my motor: -7R case, engine number 6133699, chassis number is 9113101911 -definitely split at some point, it has webers, sump plate from a later carrera (carrera oil pump mod), and orange case sealant showing where the case halves meet -these cylinders are showing 16 fins and do not stick to a magnet I have no documentation on the motor and the PO didnt have any idea what had been done to the car. The original '73T and '73.5 CIS T cylinders were iron right? If so, these non-metallic mahles with 16 cooling fins are not the originals. I know they are not 2.7 RS from the pics posted in another thread. So, what are they? Any help is appreciated |
OK, I found a pic of a Biral cylinder in BAs book. Looks just like this one.
edit: So these are from a E or an S right? Anyway to tell which without pulling the heads? |
They look like my Mahle 2.2S cylinders. I think they could be any Biral cylinders, but they are definitely not cast iron T jugs.
