Does anyone sell parts to rebuild oil pump?
I'm debating rebuilding my oil pump if I can get the parts or buy a used 964 pump for my 2.7. Any ideas? I'm not even sure if my current pump is bad but don't want to take the risk because my #3 big end rod bearing failed probably due to low oil pressure.
Thanks Tristan |

I don't think anyone makes replacement gears - it's best to just buy a new one...

You should ahve an idea of the pump is bad given the oil pressure readings before tear-down. Also, traditionally, machine shops rebuild pumps by refinishing the pump body and installing slightly larger diameter gears. I have yet to hear of this being done with porsche motors. Possibly its because if you have a problem later you have to split the case. Possibly it's because a Porsche crank etc. cost so much no one wants to take the chance.
Don't gamble with a marginal pump in a 911. "Art is a luxury, function a necessity" - sorry gotta disagree. ![]()
