Hi! I am a newcomer on this site and I have a question concerning my 2,7 from 77.
I've heard about installing 964 cams would be good to get power, but do they fit and is the valve clearence ok with regular pistons? Here in France nobody can tell!!! Thanks for your answers ![]() |

You can install the 4-bearing 964 cams in your 2.7 as long as you have the power steering pump drive boss machined off the right side camshaft. Most folks here simply have the 2.7 cams reground to the 964 profile as long as the bearing surfaces are in perfect shape. No valve clearance problems here,.... ![]()

are there any clearance issues with the cis domed pistons and the 964 profile?

Nossir, these cams have no clearance issues. Just make sure that your deck height is at spec and someone has not excessively machined the heads' sealing surfaces.
