Cracked Oil Cooler: Is this my source of my problems?
Hi folks,
I got my oil coolers back from Pacific Oil Cooler and I want to say http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/clap.gif !!! WOW! These guys did one heck of a job. Not only did they clean both coolers with an ultrasonic method, they also pressure tested each, repainted my front mount (where chipped) and did some magical anodizing (gold) to my Behr cooler. ($75 each!!). They both look NEW. Now comes the interesting part: They found a crack in my engine mount cooler and repaired it. I'm wondering if this contributed to my low pressure issues and eventually the rod bearing failure. Thoughts? Tristan |
The crack was bad enough to cause a oil pressure problem you car would have left a giant puddle of oil whereever you went. Not to mention you would have been able to empty your oil tank in a matter of minutes.

Not terribly likely, although a clogged oil cooler can cause problems...
