engine to tranny assembly question
I'm trying to install my engine and I'm having a little trouble mating it to the transaxle. i have it started but it is about 1" from being all the way up and I'm having trouble getting that last inch.
i think it may be hanging up on the clutch throw out arm. I have the clutch arm removed as detailed in wayne's book (which I left at work, duh). The arm had some play in it and as I pushed the engine closer the play diminished as if the arm was engaging into the throwout bearing. As i push it up hard i lose all the play in the clutch shaft. Any suggestions? I really don't want to force it and screw it up. |
Problem solved, I just kept wiggling it and it eventually mated together.

Be sure to look through the little windows in the tranny bellhousing, to see if the forks are really mated up to the TOB properly. The TOB has a wide groove on the very outer edge. The entire outer edge is a bit groove. the ends of the forks should fit into this groove. The forks would, in theory, be able to either push or pull the TOB.
