Porsche Crest Re: Wayne's top engine picks- 3.5L

Hi Wayne, Bought your book and loved it! It cleared up so many questions that I've decided to build my own motor. Your top engine pick normally aspirated 3.5L is the motor I want to build. Do you have a laundry list of parts/instructions for this motor since I have too many questions to list regarding this motor but here are some of the major ones: 1. On the 3.2 heads, is enlarging the cylinder mounting surface to accept the 100mm barrels the only machining required? (Other than 2nd plug) i.e. any porting required? 2. I want to use an "S" cam for most flexibility but would I be using a Carrera camshaft reground to "S" specs or will a 69-71 "S" cam bolt right in even though a camshaft journal is missing? (I know certain ones can't be used because of the MFI drive on the end of the left one) 3. In your book you listed 46 Webers as required, does that mean 46 PMO's won't be ideal for some reason? 4. I assume I can get 100mm Mahle P/C sets from Andial but when I went to their website they weren't listed that way (by diameter) they were listed as displacement increase kits. My question is are there different types of 100mm Mahle P/C sets or is there only one correct type available with the reliefs for the 49/41.5 valves? 5. While on the Andial website I noticed that they have a twin plug distributor conversion for turbo distributors. It appears from the text that this part is intended for exactly this type of motor. My question is, since my car is a 1970 911T currently (with points) will I need some sort of engine management system like Motronic to run this breakerless distributor or will I just add another ignition module, coil and the Hall effect sensor will provide the correct signal? Any tips, insight would be greatly appreciated. Do you think the actual installation of this motor with a 915 trans is something for the backyard mechanic? As far as I know, new shift linkage, updated clutch actuation and sheetmetal clearance in transmission hump for the 915 are the only major problems with retrofitting this engine. Thanks -MP
