cam housing I have wayne's book but it doesn't cover dealing with the different type of cam nt/assembly I have (3.0). I have the nut off but am having difficulty getting the gasket? undrneath off so I can remove the housing. |

Are you asking about the round plate with 3 holes in it behind the sprocket? That plate is held in there by a large O-ring. They'll pop out with a little careful pulling in the screw holes. I think you can use the cam to pop it out also. -Chris EDIT: Check out this thread |

There is a key on the cam holing the thing together and I don't want to break anything. Nothing I have read shows this or talks about how to deeal with it. |

The woodruff key must be removed first. I put a rag in the left chainbox or tip the motor such that if I drop the key it doesn't fall into the motor. -Chris |

Sure do cover this, check the book again. I don't really quite understand your question though... -Wayne |

Wayne, it is a woodruff key. I never saw it mentioned but, I hope to get it out. Believe it or not, it diasassembeled that entire side with the cam still in the box. |

You are having trouble with the woodruff key? Just stick a small screwdriver against it and tap it out with a hammer... |
|
Where do you put the screwdriver (flathead I am supposing)? |
|
RIght up against where the key sticks out of the cam. Make SURE that you put a rag near the chain area so it doesn't go into the motor! |
