Rebuild Advice

Looking for some clarification... I'm planning on upgrading my 2.0, keeping the aluminum case and adding 2.7 P&C's.
My question...Can I keep the 2.0 heads w/ RS cams that I have now (are they compatible with the 2.7 P&C's)? Or do I need to have 2.7 heads with them?
I'm keeping the short stroke 2.0 crankshaft of course.
The plans for the car...daily driver plus play time on weekends. Any additional tips, comments, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Many of the upgrades are already done on the case, just need some directions on what matches up to what.
Pic included of the car to show what is already there.
Thanks ahead of time. PS...OE parts soon to be for sale to pay for upgrades (seats, wheels, gas tank, etc)http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1079239763.jpg

From what i know the 2.0 heads are poorly designed and when going to larger dispacement you sould switch them out for later ones, as for if it would work I don't really know. I wouldn't go with the 2.0 heads.

Dan,

I agree with 68’911, save the 2.0 heads and get a set of 2.2-2.4-2.7 heads.

Give us some more information.
Is the engine now a stock ’66-’67 2.0 911 aluminum case? What carbs? Center oil cams? What ignition?

I assume you have read both of WD’s books and BA’s book.

For a nice daily and weekend 911 consider this:
Do all the mods to your case; oil squirters, shuffle pins, oil bypass, machine larger cylinder spigots, etc.
Largest oil pump.
Get the later heads, E or S would be best.
RS 90 mm P&C at 9.8:1 (still requires premium fuel).
Twin plug.
Keep your OE cams but if you have center oil cams add the spray bar cam housing.
Front cooler.
Turn the fan slightly faster.

It doesn’t matter if you have 40IDAs or Solexs.

This will make a very pleasant and reliable 2519 cc street engine with superb performance.

Best,
Grady

Thanks Grady and 68'911 for the advice. I'm just tearing the 2.0 apart now. It has upgraded mechanical tensioners, the cams are not center oiled. I haven't broken the case open yet, that's this weekend. Carbs are 40IDA Webers. As far as I can tell it's stock except for the RS cams. I'll plan on parting with the 2.0 P&C's and heads and look for a set of 2.7's. I also already have a newer oil pump and oil coolers for the front spoiler. Ignition is Bosch, can't tell if original or upgraded. I'm waiting for BA's book to show up, have read WD's twice now, starting over.
