3.4 together and one leak - camshaft oil tube plug.

Just got everything together and did a quick start up. Thought it was a gasket but it appears it might be the oil tube plug, drivers side.

Not something I have heard much about leaking and just curious about every one else's experience with these leaking???

Did remove the oil tubes for cleaning, etc. Not sure if it was leaking before the engine tear down and rebuild...

Thanks -
Erik

That's pretty unfortunate.

Are you sure it's the oil tube plug and not the cam thrust plate gasket?

Or one of the large welch plugs? reason I ask, is I have seen a welch plug come loose on a friends car and the fix was fairly simple. (new plug, 574, etc)

Erik, that is a bummer. Front or rear plug? I have seen a few pics of builders applying epoxy on the outside of the rear plug, after installing the new one with 574.

If I remember correctly, the plugs get driven in just below flush? If so, epoxy could also be wiped over the front plug recess, as well. Not saying that this is the solution, but might be worth doing if you have to replace the plug again.
