a nice bead eh? that stuff is applied with a small roller, or it can harden up too thick between the parts. seems impossible, but it can. anyway, the excess will be dissolved in the oil.

Thanks John,..I tried to keep it light in the centers, but did use about a 1/8" around the valve opening's,..It seemed better to have a little too much than not enough,..Hope I did it correctly Thanks agin....Frank

it's wierd stuff. it has the potential to solidify in a thick layer if too much is used. most times it doesn't, but i have personal experience on a 930 engine between the case halves, which resulted in a #8 main bearing to case oil leak. maybe it was old.

John,
LOVE your quote although I think I mentioned that before. Quick thought for you: If you have a seriously thick bead of this stuff won't the inside of that bead approach the conditions (i.e. lack of O2) necessary to create setting in the middle? Tristan |

that's what i'm talking about with the 574.
as for the quote, just doing my part for "anybody but bush". i've had a couple of folks take offense, but hey, it's a free country, and it's an election year.
