2.2 E or S Pistons for 2.4 upgrade?

I am looking to put 2.2 E or S pistons in my 2.4T engine. The previous owner had it rebuilt by Motormeister right before I bought it and it has leaked oil at the camshaft housing to head mating surface since I bought it 3 years ago. Since it has to be taken apart to fix this leak (hopefully Motormeister will do this for me as it is their rebuild that leaks since day one - I have asked them multiple times what it could be and they say do a dye test to be sure), I thought I should upgrade the pistons to higher compression 2.2 pistons.

My question is this - since MM shaved the heads to raise compression, and also put in Solex cams, will I have trouble fitting in 2.2S pistons? cannot I just use a bnig enough cylinder base gasket to accomodate S pistons, or is this going to be too tight and I should go for 2.2E pistons or custom JE's instead.

This boards expertise is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Oops - I didnot mean to post this thread again here - I meant to put it over on the main 911 board.

Sorry.

2.2 pistons in a 2.4 engine are a common, and inexpensive upgrade--especially if you get a good used set. You should get Wayne's engine rebuild book as it provides this info, and more. It will answer basically all your engine questions.

Second, do a search on MM on the main 911 tech board. You likely won't be using them for your engine work after some reading...
