Well between exams and just plain life i hadn't touched it last week. but I just got back from home home. It's not firing on all six but I've got good oil pressure.
more to come (pics and such) when it's drivable again |
Congrats on licking the oil pressure thing, Tim. I've been a bit curious about your motor since I just finished building practically the same thing. Mine came up to oil pressure just fine, but the MFI is giving me fits (popping, backfiring, etc.), so I haven't been able to run it in properly yet.
Like you've experienced, life does indeed sometimes get in the way of these projects. It's been two weeks since I've been able to touch my car, but I'm looking forward to Saturday morning when I can get some things sorted. :) Good luck, Jim |
AHH you've got an E cammed high compression 2.4 ? Very cool I'm hoping it'll be great for the street.
I'm still sorting out ignition problems so I'm not even thinking about the fuel right now. |
Yup,
E P/C's and cams, the rest pretty much stock. FYI, my case checked out perfectly; my machinist said that he rarely sees T motors stress the case enough to require machining. I just did the standard case-saver/oil bypass mod thing, and everything seems to be fine. I am getting sick of the MFI; I've C/M/A'd the crap out of it all to no avail. I'm thinking of going to either Webers or Zeniths until I can get the MFI sorted. Jeeze, I just want to drive his car, and track season is upon us! Good Luck, Jim |
Jim,
Please dont be insulted, but are you positive that the pump is timed at the FE 40 degrees after TDC #4? When i bought my motor about 5 years ago it was not timed correctly and acted like you are describing. Once i timed it right, all was good. Paul |
Yep, it does wonders. I screwed it up on dtw's car the first time and I think he got crucified at the mechanics for it. Make sure it's timed right.
No updates on the car yet. Did a hosectemy and other piddly stuff that needed to be done for me to drive the car. |
