Case Throughbolt Torque
So, I put the case back together and torqued the through bolts down to the proper setting. One thing I noticed was that after I got through torquing them all down, when I went back to check the torque setting, the whole bolt would turn and I had to put a socket back on the opposing nut to check the torque. If I didn't, the whole through bolt turned.
Is this normal? |
Sure, sounds perfectly reasonable, especially if you lubed the o-rings. Why would you check the torque without holding the bolt with a wrench while checking the torque on the nut? Sounds like a good way to scribe or tear o-rings.
