Fly Wheel Seal
I just drove in my flywheel seal, I didnt realize that it could be driven in past flush
wilth the case, I used the old oil seal to to help drive it in I drove it in till it bottomed out recessed about 1/8" from the flush case seal edge, will this work our do I need to start over again with a new one.

1/8" in seems fine. I had a shop (Auto Edge here in MN) replace the seal on my previous engine and they drove it in flush with the outside. On the rebuild I just completed I installed it flush with the inside, I think per Wayne's book. I do remember wondering if it would make a difference. The engine is clean and dry so I don't think so. I hope the attached photo shows how the gap looked with the case split.

I don't think it matters, but just for reference, I make them mate flush with the surface...

That's good to know. I'm pretty sure I seated mine to the rear because that's how photo 3-19 on p131 looked (to me).
