Thanks to Wayne et al
After a 'high RPM' incident last fall I undertook a complete rebuild of my ancient 2.7.
I just finished my 20 minute run at 2000 rpm, everything went smoothly with the exception of a small oil 'drip' that I need to track down. I would like to thank Wayne and all the others guys on the board who helped me out over the last six months. (And Mike who lent me the engine stand). This was a real challenge, but with your help I think I've succeeded. With luck I'm doing more driving now and less asking... Thanks again guys. SmileWavy |
Tell me that 20 minutes doesn't take about 10 years off your life! Congrats on the rebuild!

Actually it was worse getting the nerve to crank the starter the first time, then later, cranking knowing it was about to start.
High risk, high reward. |
BTDT had no oil pressure THAT"S nerve wracking. trying to dagnose oil pressure problems with a brand new engine.
Congrads on the new motor it should definitly liven up your porsche expereince. Is it back to stock? |
Cool deal - another success story!

I didn't want to try anything too exotic on my first Porsche engine, it's a straight stock 2.7 with CIS and re-ringed alusils. (part of the Pelican experiment).
I plan to add megasquirt next winter. |
