how to get 3.6 crank pulley off?
 

I tried to search and couldn't find anything so maybe someone can help - Started using a three prong puller to remove the crank three pulley on a 92 3.6 . it started to bend the pulley so I stopped It looks like the outer pulley has some threads that you ,might drive a bolt or special tool into the crank and drive it off? anyone got any hints on how to get the pulley off. Also how about a good source for a single pulley - thanks jeff

Hmm, off the top of my head, I think it's similar to the early cars. There's a bolt (same bolt according to the parts diagrams) in the center that affixes the pulley to the shaft. There's a small woodruff key (this is different) that holds it in place. Maybe your woodruff key is getting cocked?

they don't come off without this tool. the pulley hub is a taper fit over the crank snout. the dealer sells it fairly cheap, or make one.

thread is 16X1.50, from bottom of hex head to bottom of thread- 20mm, shaft is 12mm wide, 35mm long. find a 16X55X1.50 bolt and turn or grind down the end.

Aha! thank you for taking the time to provide the picture and detailed measurements. I saw the threads in the outer pulley and was thinking there might be something like that but didnt want to risk damaging the crank snout - thanks John

I can't find it listed either but since it's a Porsche tool, call Pelican.
I got a deal on mine a few years ago, someone borrowed it and it broke. They replaced it but I think it was quite expensive (~$75).

I think a fully threaded M16x1.5 bolt may be hard to come by. My local metric fastener shop (BelMetric) didn't have one when I checked a year or two ago. I just tried searching MSC and McMasterCarr: MSC doesn't seem to carry M16 at all and McMasterCarr only has the socket headed type.
