I am in the process of changing my 2nd geer dogteeth on my 930 88. The question is that the new part is a littel diferent that the original one on the car. I the picture you see that the teeth have a littel ridge or step on it and the original one I am removing is flat. Does this make a diference or not? Is this the right dog teeth for 2nd on a 4 speed?

If I understand you correctly, the old one is probably just worn. if the dog rings are the same aside from the teeth having a slightly different shape, it is probably just wear on the old one.

The step is found on all replacement dog teeth. Those without the step relied on the side of the gear itself as the "stop" for the shift sleeve. Because the 930 shift rods do not have detent grooves for "in gear" position, the two types of dog teeth are interchangeable.
