How do I know what cams I have?

I bought my 85 Carrera with 125,000 mile on a broken speedo. The car was an abandoned track project. Through-out the 8 months that I've owned the car I've always noticed it "choppy" but I always contributed that to the gutted cat and flowmater muffler. Now, that I finally tracked the car and I've had a few people ask me what I have in my engine, it's starting to bug me. I have stopped convincing myself that the engine is stock and I would like to know how to check the cam specs.

Does anyone know how?

By the way I'm not complaining, the engine sounds awsome. Almost like a muscle car.

Thanks

The only real accurate way is to remove them and have them sent to a cam shop, where they can map them. You can guesstimate using a degree wheel and a dial indicator, but this is only a guess...

We have a cam carrier and cylinder head made up and attached to a "cam doctor"
put the cam in, set the lash and record the data.
nice detailed print out. I can also include graphs.
