I picked up a tip from watching a home repair show.
After you clean mild steel or cast iron with solvent you may find that you can't immediately assemble the part that you have in your hand. You can coat the thing with something like Johnson's Floor wax. This is handy if you have just degreased some items and will have to wait for paint or what ever preservative that you want to use. It will only take a few seconds to reclean the item for assembly later. Good luck in all of your projects. David Duffield |
