Timing Chain Housing

Is the gasket for the chain housing to case installed dry? Is there a recommendation on any way to minimize the leaks in this area? I had the surfaces machined as well as the covers and cleaned the heck out of both surfaces. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

BTW, it's a '90 3.6.

Thanks,

i've seen enough of them seep a bit, in spite of resurfacing, that i use a light coat of K+W coppercoat spray sealer on them.
