The "Best" Clutch Packages

My 2.0L race engine will be in need of a clutch and pressure plate
I have had great luck w the Centerforce package. I'm willing to try something else if someone can convince me that their is something better out there. We are not talking about alot of power, maybe 190-195 RWHP.

Any lightweight pressure plates available? Let the opinions begin!!

Tilton 2 plate pp with a wevo, or rennsportsystems flywheel..

Patrick sells both the CenterForce clutch and a nice lightweight flywheel for a 215mm 901 trans. I don't have the quote with me, but I remember it being in the $800 range for the clutch package and flywheel. They claim it's good to about 300 hp (I know it should be torque not HP). I couldn't find these parts on Pelican, but hopefully I just missed it. I was planning on using this on my ~240 HP 2.8 in my '69. The stock clutch is just not cutting it.

Good luck,

JP

Wayne,

Does Pelican carry any 901 Centerforce clutch kits?

CenterForce 901 clutch kit DF191198
CenterForce 2.0 911S clutch kit DF173173

They don't show up in the search engine. How about a lightweight 901 215MM flywheel?

Thanks,

JP

As far as I know, Sachs does not make a beefier clutch for the 215mm 901 flywheel, just the stock one. Do anyone know the torque spec for the stock Sachs clutch package? Considering the highest HP engine available on the 215MM flywheel was 160 HP, I doubt it was all that high.

I have a sachs in my car. Never had a problem with it in 3 years. You saw it at willow Mark when we changed the transmission. You said it looked new... that was after 3 seasons.

My stock 215mm Sachs clutch was bullet-proof with my 2.2 E engine, but when I drop my 2.8RS in, it was overwhelmed. The clutch will break loose at-will at 5K RPM at WOT. The cluch has less than 3000 miles on it with very little wear, and is correctly adjusted. I only have this one data point, but I think anything over ~200 ft-lbs may require more than the stock Sacks clutch.

I put a Centerforce in my 3.2 in Nov. after putting one in my Talon AWD/TSI a few years ago. I like them alot. The Porsche Centerfgorce is inreality a Sachs that CF rebuilds. Talk to Patrick Motorsports. Regards,
Steve
