Rear engine seal

I'm at the assembly stage, 2,2 engine. I can't tell from the books, Wayne's et al, which way the rear seal, at the crank, should go. Logic tells me how I thnk it should go but need input from you guys.

The hollow/springed side faces in towards the engine.
