I had my 1976 911 2.7 rebuilt. Have not started yet due to oil
dripping out of exhaust ports. I have turned the motor over several times and sounds fine. Also smell gas in oil. What would be the cause? Anybody? |

1) How much is dripping?
2) How much oil did you use during assembly? 3) Gasoline may be residual from the intakes when you took them off and then re-attached.

A few drips a day... Could it be that the rings are not seated yet?

That just doesn't sound right unless you put 9 gallons of oil in. There is no way that oil could be leaking out the exhaust ports unless you didn't have rings on the pistons (doubt it) or you didn't get the heads seated onto the cylinders (doubt it again). Are you sure they are leaking out the exhaust ports and not leaking from somewhere else and running down by the exhaust ports?
