Cam Grind ?
 
Hey Guys,

Being somewhat of a newbee to these engines I have a question about the cams. I have 74 911S 2.7 CIS engine I am working on.

I have pulled the cams and I am sending them out to be reground along with the rockers. In the past I have sent stuff to American Cam and Rocker Arm Specialist in Calif. and have been pretty happy. I thought I'd do the same again. I want to just clean them up so nothing more than a stock grind will be requested. Is there anything special I need to communicate to them such as lift or duration?

Is there anyone better in your opinion to send them to perhaps a Porsche speciality shop?

As usual, your advise and wisdom is appreciated.

At least for the cams, a lot of people here (myself included) use Elgin Cams for the grind. They do a great job and can also recommend a better profile over stock. Prices are very reasonable. Competition Engineering seems to be the source of choice for rocker refurb, and is also quite reasonable cost-wise.
