No Don your cylinders are not the Oring type. Yours are flat surfaced and are like the original. The C2T cylinder is all that Mahle offers now for the 3.3. The old style (who would want anyway) is no longer available. If you machined the cylinder flat you would have to use one hell of a base gasket. Just use the base gaskets and Orings and the system will not leak.

Use the o-rings even though there is no groove to accept the o-ring? These are 3.2L cylinders, bored to 98mm and re-nikasil'd with no o-ring grooves.

No sir, your setup does not use Orings, use the copper base gaskets in the upper end kit.
Brian's setup does use o-rings. |
