3.2 cylinders
 

I hope I am on the right track...

I just bid and won on a set of 95mm 3.2L nicki cylinders. I currently have a 3.0 liter stock motor on my SC that I will be rebuilding within the next 6 mo. or so due to a broken head stud. I am thinking of taking these 95's and getting them bored out to 98's and getting them recoated and buying some JE pistons for the rebuild. I am planning on supercharging this motor and using EFI as well. I have not yet decided wether to find a 3.2 crank or sticking with my 3.0 crank.

What mods to the head will I need to make this work out nicely with the redone 98mm cylinders?

I have seen a few things about having grooves cut in the heads and cylinders to allow for a continous a metal sealing ring. IS this a good idea/possible?

you're on the right track, but...

the supercharging bit sounds like the most challenging (hasn't been done by many, this is one of the best examples unless you want to pony up the reported $6-7k for the supercharging of knoxville kit:

Natchamp on this board did that setup from the link, it's all "from scratch".

EFI isn't too hard with tbitz' kit, but the CIS intake manifolds aren't necessarily compatible with a supercharger; I believe Natchamp shortened the Carrera manifold.

Let's back up a bit: Lots of people here can give you good advice if you tell us what your goals are for this motor, i.e. street use daily or on weekends, autocross, track use, your experience with other cars, expectations of the modified engine, etc. Anything you can think of.

I saw those on Ebay as well. You got a great deal. I was interested in them myself, but had no idea whether they'd work on my SC. As good a deal as it seemed, I didn't want to have a box of cylinders that I might not be able to use. In any case, good luck with your project. Rob

yeah, i saw uncle zak, and saw his name arround here some so figured they would be ok, especially since I woudl end up boring them out anyway...

glad to hear someone thinks I got a good deal, i figured it was worth it to me...

PS best I ahve seen is like 900 to bore to 98 and recoat...

so I was thinking...if I gotta replate, can I go 99mm or 100mm or....well how big can these handle without loosing too much reliablity?
