What oil pump to use on the 67S rebuild?

The original one looks fair, there's some scratch marks on the impellers (is this bad?) and a little bit of play when turning it (i.e. the impellers will click a bit as it rotates).

What I'd really like to know though, is there a better pump that requires no case modifications, and if so, how do I identify these as I'll probably be looking for a used one. Thanks, Bill

Bill, go ahead and try to find a 76-83 style, usually referred to as the SC pump, or get the later Carrera 3.2 pump. Both fit right in, but with the carrera pump you will have to get a new sump plate with no drain plug... Do the oil bypass modification while you're at it...

Best! Scott
