This is rare for us. We generally just do engines and transmissions but Jerry is a good guy so we decided to do the whole project.

Henry, Your work is gorgeous!! I too am afflicted with painting, polishing and plating any of my porsche projects. In my opinion a project isn't complete , until you do so. Dan

Schweet!!

You know, they have fancy new drugs for that behavior. ;)

So what would you have done differently if you wanted it to be a show car....

Bobboloo 11-05-2004 12:42 AM

That's excellent!

The solex cam with the 2.7MFI is a great call.

How did you like the results as compared to a S cam? I've thought about this combo before and wondered what it would be like. Maybe even going with smaller ports, something like 32 or 34mm ports to make a 2.7E MFI motor.

What space cam did you go with in the injection pump?

Beautiful Henry!

The difference is, we wouldn't do it. Although we take pride in the attention to detail, show people are a little too anal.

MichiganMat 11-05-2004 12:46 PM

what did you use for paint and undercoating of the suspension peices and tub?

Henry Schmidt 11-05-2004 01:11 PM

Wurth undercoat and powder coating. Aluminium parts are bead blasted. The gold parts are cad 2 (zink plating). Why they call it cad2 is a mystery to me.

Henry I agree with you about being a bit anal. Although your attention to detail on engine builds is phenomenal. Give me a hot rod anyday over a showcar. I have noticed that since I have started buying up parts for my hot rod which is in need of a chassis I have gotten very involved in every detail. I guess you could say its the nature of the beast.

Boy, I can't see any reason to even consider shipping my engine to CA from TX for your services. :p
